Rhododendron 'Dopey' has large clusters of deep red blooms that transition to pink at the edges. These sturdy, tiny shrubs with a compact heap of evergreen foliage are dwarf, dome-shaped plants. They are one of the evergreen rhododendrons in the Yakushimanum group and have been awarded an RHS AGM. These are a great option for a patio container or the front of acid borders. For sheer flower power, Rhododendron 'Canzonetta' is unsurpassable! From late May, the large, semi-double, red-pink flowers completely smother the foliage. The glossy, evergreen foliage provides year round colour, turning to rich mahogany during the winter months.

Rhododendron Harvest Moon, a Knap Hill hybrid, is a rarely encountered English breeding variety. If planted in ericaceous soil, it makes a lovely deciduous shrub for an acid border or large pot. In May, just as the leaves appear, trusses of delicately fragrant, trumpet-shaped, sunset yellow-orange flowers bloom on bare stalks. The leaf starts off golden, then turns green in the summer before becoming red and bronze in the fall. Height and spread: 1.5m (5').
